European Underwater Defence Initiative
SEACURE is a 45-month European Defence Fund (EDF) project launched in 2024, bringing together 35 partners from 13 European countries under the coordination of Thales. The project develops an integrated System-of-Systems combining unmanned underwater, surface and seabed platforms to support antisubmarine and seabed warfare operations for the protection of Europe’s critical maritime infrastructure.
ETME’s Contribution
Delivering advanced seabed systems and integrated underwater technologies to strengthen Europe’s maritime defence capabilities.
ETME participates in the EDF-funded SEACURE project as the Greek national leader and Work Package contributor, supporting the development of an integrated System-of-Systems capability for the protection of critical maritime infrastructure. ETME leads the design of semi-fixed seabed platforms, enabling a persistent underwater presence through the long-term deployment and support of sensors, autonomous systems, and communication networks. Its activities focus on the integration of underwater sensors, power and communication interfaces, and real-time data relay between seabed, surface, and shore-based assets. Through its systems engineering and maritime integration expertise, ETME contributes to the development of a modular, interoperable, and scalable architecture for sustained underwater surveillance and future infrastructure protection operations.
