FloatMast is a floating platform that performs the best floating wind data measurements for the expanding Offshore Wind Energy Industry. These wind measurements are vital for the cost benefit analysis of Offshore Wind Parks (OWPs) as they are used in the estimation of the annual income. The measurements collected by FloatMast are according to the highest industry standard (IEC 61400-12-1:2022) and provide the greatest net benefit to the Developers of OWPs. The platform can perform multi-purpose measurements as it can incorporate oceanographic instruments and environmental sensors, providing a fully integrated solution for a complete monitoring of the OWP site and the Environment.
The initial idea of a concept consisted of a stable floating platform with an integrated met mast and Lidar system, was born from ETME in 2012. In 2013 the Project Floatmast «Development of Data Measuring Systems and Methodology for Wind, Oceanographic and Environmental Parameters Through Floating Structures for Offshore Wind Parks (2013-2016)» was awarded by the Greek State by the PAVET funding scheme (557– ΒΕΤ – 2013). The award of the SME Instrument Phase II for the FloatMastBlue Project (2017-2021) (Grant agreement ID: 784040) made it possible to undertake a full-scale demonstration of the platform in an operational environment. This pioneer effort created the first ever Floating Met Mast within and the successful deployment and operation in the Aegean Sea testify the company’s unique technical and management capabilities.
